Moving day can be the most exciting day for many but can also be the most daunting. The frenzy of having to haul out stuff accumulated over the years end up in heaps and piles of boxes and bags at your new place.
Having gone through at least five moves ourselves (and that's only in Canada) and observing hundreds of clients go through it, here is a list of things that you need to have with you that will help you keep your sanity on your first day at the new place:
Kitchen: Tea & coffee, kettle, paper plates for pizza that night, paper towels, bottled water, bread, milk, cereals, snacks and pop.
Bathrooms: Towels, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, toilet paper
Bedroom: Beddings, blankets & pillows, PJs or nightwear
Miscellaneous: Jewelry, cell phones, pet food, important docs like wills, insurance, birth certificates, contract with mover, photo albums
Your Sanity: Your little kids, your pet, your laptop, headache meds, phone number of your local takeout place and most importantly...YOUR PATIENCE AND SENSE OF HUMOUR***
