Jon & Sylvia Amante of Re/Max pioneered a first of its kind, a "family-oriented" real estate seminar entitled " Building Wealth in your family through Real Estate". The event was well attended by clients, young and old(er), with the goal of opening up avenues for building up wealth in families through real estate investments. Also on hand to shed light on various fields related to real estate were professionals from the mortgage industry, financial planning and home staging. Here are some of the topics taken up at the seminar:
30-Year Trend in Real Estate Prices from 1970 to 2010
POSITIVE FACTORS THAT ARE AFFECTING THIS PRICING TREND:
- Mortgage rates down to an all time low since 1995
- Incentives for first-time buyers: use of RRSPs as down payment, Land Transfer Tax Credits, High-ratio morgages
- Immigration and Population Increase: since 2001, immigration to Canada has averaged 240,000 per year and approximately 40% or 96,000 settle in Toronto
- Massive increase in the number of practitioners in real estate and related fields: 30,000 real estate agents, making the Toronto Real Estate Board the largest in the world and other related fields like mortgage brokerages, real estate law, home renovations, etc.
Regardless of the stage that one's family is at : empty nesters or about to be empty nesters, families with young adults, families with university-age children, families with very young children, young families moving up, renters or first-time buyers - there are countless options available for everyone.
Due to the good turnout, future seminars are in the works. More details to follow.
